The Big Lake Difference!
Big Lake thrives on a program that is both fun and rewarding. Campers regularly report that the excitement of learning new activities is not as great as the positive Christian campfires and new friendships that are made. This is because a love for Jesus permeates everything we do. Our carefully selected staff provides a program designed to nurture campers toward personal growth, building positive relationships and making healthy choices for a lifetime.
Each camper is on a journey; a journey pushing them toward achievement, self-direction and a greater understanding of life in the real world. Big Lake offers them friendship, encouragement, and the adventure of their lives. It’s an experience they won’t soon forget.
As parents we see the significance of allowing our kids to journey. They need to experience, explore, learn and grow. They also need to discover that their choices and behavior affects their lives and future. It is our hope that campers will experience challenges during their week at camp, but that as these challenges are faced, encouraging staff members will be there to support them and encourage them to handle them responsibly.
There will be risks; there will be bumps along the way; there may even be hurt feelings between campers in a cabin. This is the stuff of growing up. Big Lake is a place where these challenges and risks are managed with the child’s best interests in mind. I regularly meet campers who tell me that their week at Big Lake was “life changing.” Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to be a part of your child’s journey to maturity.
